The countryside in the Czech Republic is supported within the framework of the EU rural development policy. This project aimed at retrospectively evaluating the impacts of the programme on the agricultural sector and on improving quality of life in the countryside.
The project aimed at an ex-post evaluation of the implementation of the Czech Rural Development Programme 2007–2013. The IREAS evaluation team processed an assessment of Axis III – Quality of life in rural areas and diversification of the rural economy and Axis IV – LEADER. The evaluation was based on treatment of responses to the evaluation questions defined in the European Commission’s Guidelines for the ex post evaluation of 2007–2013 (Toolbox 2: Set of revised common evaluation questions), and also on specific issues under the intervention programme logic. From the partial analysis, we also processed evaluation questions at the programme level linked to the value achieved using impact indicators, including the evaluation of the fulfilment of planned impact targets. Specific emphasis was also placed on conformity assessment results and impacts of the strategic priorities and objectives of the Community Health Check.
